Food & Growing

Ever wondered how to forage for freshly grown, seasonal produce in the wild? Learn what to pick, when to pick and how to use in your everyday meals.

Foraging is a way to encourage a greater awareness of our surroundings with the need to slow down, pause and look. Throughout lockdown, we hosted a series of outdoor foraging walks, talks and workshops in and around Neilston, all led by a fully qualified foraging expert! The workshops were hugely popular, so we plan to run more, along with indoor cooking classes to run alongside and learn how easy it is to cook what you pick and create amazing meals!

Ashley Xtina ‘We had an absolutely fantastic time!

Yvonne Parker ‘Great session, thank you!

More info coming soon! In the meantime, if you would like to find out more, please e-mail admin@neilstontrust.co.uk!

Music, Arts & Crafts

‘Enjoyed the course immensely and all the varied aspects of photography!’

‘As an absolute beginner, i thoroughly enjoyed learning new things on this course…it was really interesting!’

‘Would recommend anyone with an interest in photography, no matter how much or how little experience, to get involved, you won’t regret it!’

These are just a few testimonials from participants who took part in our online photography course and a sample of some of the fantastic work produced!

We are delighted to announce the course will be returning, with new and exciting content, on Wednesday 15th September, fortnightly (during term time), 6.30pm – 8.30pm at The Bank, Main Street, Neilston.

So you’re into taking pictures with your phone or camera. The NDT Photography Group is a new concept in helping you get better images.

Delivered by a professional photographer who has designed and delivered photography programs in Further and Higher Education for over thirty years, you will be in a supportive group where everyone has something to contribute. We will cover the major components of image capture and production with examples and discussion on the images we create. The ethos of the group is that all abilities are welcomed and the standard of your photography is not judged, only supported.

So if you have a smartphone, a wee digital snapper or a high-end camera system, this group can help you improve. Meeting fortnightly each session will cover techniques and practise as well as introduce photographic assignments to improve your understanding and application.
